Doctor Who, featuring Matt Smith, will bring viewers an extra special ‘prequel’ to its Christmas special, with a story line made for Children in Need, and an exclusive preview trailer of the Christmas special including the first glimpse of the Doctor with his new companion.

If you haven’t seen it yet you aren’t missing much. Madame Vastra, the Sontaran fellow, and a couple of Conan Doyle-related in-jokes. It *is* well shot and designed though which maker it feel more of a pity that the modern “Sherlock” doesn’t – *can’t* – have any of the atmosphere and charm of the Victorian Holmes.
