Set thirty years after the events of Return of the Jedi that saw the demise of the Empire, Episode VII could be the most hotly anticipated sequel since Son of the Mask (possibly moreso). Rather than giving fans Darth Vader as precocious kid, this time the tried and true classics of Luke, Han and Leia are coming back along with some new characters. Early production footage has established that practical special effects will be used rather than a reliance on green screens, which makes my inner 5 year-old very happy. What’s even cooler are these leaked pieces of concept art depicting a universe haunted by the dark Empire and its fallen lord.
Rumors favor that Luke Skywalker will be the main villain in this new trilogy, but like much of the information floating around, this has yet to be confirmed. Directed by J.J. Abrams, Star Wars Episode VII has a December 18, 2015 release date.
