Second Iron Man 2 Easter Egg (spoiler)

After the break, another spoiler image from Iron Man 2 that continues to develop the Avengers thread…
It looks like Iron Man 2 contains another easter egg, this time referring to Captain America, the First Avenger.
In the first Iron Man film, eagle-eyed viewers noticed a strange image seen in Tony Stark’s workshop, that of Captain America’s shield still in mid-construction on Stark’s work bench.
In the lower left hand corner, you can just spot the shield
In Iron Man 2, apparently the shield is still being worked on and is held up by S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Coulson.

While traditionally Captain America’s shield is a simple blend of vibranium and other metals, there was a stage when it was ‘enhanced’ by some of Stark’s gizmos possibly to give Cap an edge in the field and to appeal to readers by modernizing the character. The idea was quickly shelved and the shield returned to its stripped down status. It looks like Iron Man 2 may hint more development into the super soldier program also mentioned in the Incredible Hulk film.
We’ve already seen the after credit sequence regarding another Avenger, so it sounds like the Marvel Universe is here.
Iron Man 2 debuts May 7th.
