For those unaware, Free Comic Book Day occurs once every year as a way to celebrate the medium and to possibly attract new readers. Several publishers produce free comics intended to showcase their comics, often resulting in exclusive content such as the type seen in the FCBD Spider-Man comic two year’s ago.
This year’s free comic from Marvel features more Avengers than you can shake a Norn Stone at. It’s nice to see these two teams actually interacting at last. While New Avengers issue 50 boasted a conflict, it never really came to pass. It was an interesting story, but I’m sure I wasn’t the only reader who felt cheated. I’m looking forward to reading the adventure and hope that it lives up to its promise.
Another notable offering is Green Lantern: Blackest Night #0 leading into this summer’s mega event featuring several dead characters making trouble for our jade-hued hero.
