Planet Skaar!

Posted by dailypop on February 7, 2009

Greg Pak recently announced at the New York Comic Con that a Planet Skaar event comic was on its way. For those left in the dust by all the events going on at Marvel Comics (and with so many happening at once each year, fair enough!), Skaar is the Son of the Hulk left behind on the planet Sakaar where Hulk was marooned for a year by the Illuminati (consisting of Professor Xavier, Black Bolt, Namor, Doctor Strange and Iron Man). Apparently the combined powers that be decided that enough was enough and shot the Hulk into space where he would no longer harm anyone ever again. sonhulk011_cov

Hulk landed on the savage planet Sakaar which proved to be a match worthy of his massive strength. After mating with one of the ‘Old Strong,’ Caiera, producing the savage son Skaar. Born in the molten destruction of the fatal explosion that took his mother from him, Skaar has been following in his father’s angry footsteps as he conquers the planet Skaar inch by inch. In a recent issue, the Silver Surfer arrived to stop Skaar from harnessing the old power of the planet itself only to end up becoming enslaved by Skaar himself. No matter what has been set in his path, Skaar has overcome each obstacle, becoming mightier with each issue begging the question, ‘where will it end?’ With the now confirmed arrival of the Hulk’s son on the planet Earth, it seems mighty clear now.

It’s looking like the Marvel Universe is headed for another collision with a pair of green fists!
