The Incredible Cocuyo web comic

As the web comic medium has grown over the years, so have the possibilities. From humor to auto-biographical tales, there have been many web comics that have gathered cult followings. But what about a traditional super hero action comic?
Writer Alex Hernandez has created a weekly web comic much in the same vein as Stan Lee and Steve Ditko’s Spider-Man from the early 1960’s. The recent addition of art team of Frank Ruiz and colorist Chris Turner has greatly complimented the series, bringing a kind of energy that the series needed.
From the introduction, Hernandez lays down the ground rules.
My best friend Frank has inspired me to not only write, but DRAW my own regular comic. Normally I shy away from drawing because, quite frankly, I suck… but after thinking about it for all of 3 seconds I decided to challenge myself.
I’d like to introduce all of you to:The Incredible Cocuyo!
Zero artistic talent.
Zero illustration software (except Paint).
100% heart!
The arrival of a new art team improves the project and also allows Alex to concentrate on writing. I have been following Hernandez‘ work as a fan and a friend and marveled at his seemingly bottomless resource of ideas and enthusiasm.
Following the adventures of the young Cocuyo, the series fits in the spirit of Ditko’s post-Spider-Man works published in the Package series trades and the later work in The Blue Beetle series. An innocent, fun-loving web comic that embraces the classic super hero themes and ideas, The Incredible Cocuyo is a welcome addition to the web comics medium and a great way to start your day.
