Wolverine and Charlie’s Dream

Coming soon to NickToons is Wolverine and the X-Men, the latest chapter in the saga of the animated X-Men. Looking much more like the recent X-Men: Evolution cartoon, this series follows an attack that shatters the family of mutants seemingly forever. After receiving a vision of a horrific future where there is no X-Men to save thew world, Wolverine decides that Charlie Xavier’s dream was valid and takes it upon himself to reform the team in order to fight ‘the war that is coming.’
So far this looks like it could be the best X-Men cartoon to date and while the 1990’s X-Men Animated Series has its fans… that program wavered more than a little toward the end. Far more deserving of a second chance is (I’ll say it again) X-Men: Evolution, a series that began slowly but quickly developed into a refined comic book cartoon. Don’t believe me? In any case I’m hoping that this new cartoon leads to a professional release of the 1990’s X-Men Animated Series and the final season of X-Men: Evolution so I can see how it ends.
