Once again I was fooled into thinking that this was the latest issue of a series I am collecting and it turned out to be another one shot. What is with Marvel and the one shots this Summer?? So long as they continue to be this good, I’m going to continue to buy them is all I can say.
This comic is split into several short stories each dealing with a different spin-off story detailing the action of Marvel Comics‘ latest mega event. Featuring Marvel Boy‘s attempts to create an army of brain washed drones, the Beast and Wonder Man teaming up in the Savage Land (but which one is a Skrull?), Agent Brand from Astonishing X-Men, and the Agents of Atlas in a fantastic fisticuffs sequence… this comic reads like a mini-series jammed into a single issue.
While I was unimpressed with the concept at first, Secret Invasion definitely has me in its grip now and I cannot wait to see how the story develops. If you missed out on this key issue, hurry down to your comic shop for a copy today, it could very well be the best Secret Invasion comic on the stands!
