Just leaked over at Comicbookresources.com, the cover for Alex Ross‘ new comic book from Dynamite Publishing and Marvel Comics entitled, ‘The Return’ was presented at Wizard World Chicago this weekend.
No details so far other than the fact that it’s a teaser for a larger project, co-created by mad scripter Jim Krueger (Earth X, Justice, Superpowers) and the superb artist Steve Sadowski (JSA, The Mysterymen).
Personally, I think it involves the WWII super hero group The Invaders (Cap, Bucky, Human Torch and Namor, the Sub Mariner). If you look closely, there’s a bare arm (Namor) on Cap’s left and a red gloved one (Bucky) on his right. Whatever the case, I love all the work done by these guys and am anxious to see the finished product.

The folks over at SyFyPortal report that hair-iffic (I’m jealous) Ron Moore, creator of the amazing Battlestar Galactica remake on The Sci-Fi Channel has won over the executives at NBC Universal.
He’s apparently been signed to create programming for NBC through 2009 including the final season of Battlestar Galactica which has enjoyed a growing (and well-earned) popularity over it’s three year run. Variety reports that it’s a seven figure deal.
Well… frak.
Of course, this opens the possibility of a prequel, fifth season or an extended finale for the program, though Moore has expressed an interest in moving on to other genres such as comedy.
The original Dirk Benedict/Richard Hatch space cowboy buddy series only ran one year unless you count Battlestar 1980 and we don’t count that, do we?
For fans of the new Battlestar Galactica series, this could be welcome news and no surprise as yet another great science fiction TV series slips from the Sci-Fi Channel’s roster.
Suggested viewing:
Battlestar Galactica – Season One
Battlestar Galactica – Season 2.0 (Episodes 1-10)
Battlestar Galactica: Season 2.5 (Episodes 10-20)

Follow the link to the fantastic and wondrous Bat-Blog.
Recently described by DC Comics’ Senior VP Dan Didio at the 2007 Chicago Wizard World Convention as being 2 years in the making, this direct to DVD release will take place between Batman Begins and The Dark Knight (due to hit theaters July 18, 2008).
The DVD will be a six part mystery done in that anime style the kids today like so much.
Each part will be written by an acclaimed comic book/comic book movie writer including script writer Josh Olsen (History of Violence), David Goyer (Blade) and comic book giant Brian Azzarello (100 Bullets).
Expect it to hit the shelves 2-4 weeks before The Dark Knight shines its beacon into the night skies.
