Iron Man video game previewed at E3

Posted by dailypop on July 15, 2007

At the 2007 E3 Event, attendees got a chance to see game play footage for the Sega video game for the upcoming Marvel Comics Iron Man movie.

The game puts players behind the mask of the Iron Man armor, making them into a one-man army capable of dealing out damage on a large scale.

In the Iron Man game, you’ll get a chance to fly into combat against various enemies who will strike back with all of the capabilities of a small nation’s military. You’ll hurl the odd repulsor ray and even catch missiles… only to throw them back at your enemies.

This should be the coolest moment for old iron pants since he got his first theme tune!

Classic Iron Man ‘cartoon’

Enemy AI will react to your behavior, countering your ground-attacks with tanks and infantry when you fly low and ground-to-air missiles when you fly too high. One key moment in the demo featured Iron Man catching a missile, whipping it toward its launcher, then soaring high to avoid enemy gunfire in an arc, only to pile drive onto the top of the tank, rip its top off, and through the tank crew at the infantry. His job done, he then rocketed back into the air, the surviving troops in total confusion.

I just hope the movie is as exciting as this video game sounds!

Star Trek XI Casting Rumors

Posted by dailypop on July 15, 2007

Apparently Bill Shatner recently called longtime pal and co-star Leonard Nimoy to chat about the upcoming JJ Abrams (Lost and Alias TV genius) Star Trek film (which chronicles the initial meeting of Kirk and Spock and their first adventures in the Starship Enterprise) only to find that not only has Nimoy read the script, but he is in it while Shatner is not.

Young Spock is said to be played by Heroes star Zachary Quinto, who looks a lot like old pointy ears.

Young Kirk may end up being played by Confessions of a Dangerous Mind star and one-time Zaphod Beeblebrox (of the Hitch Hiker’s Guide to the Galaxy film) Sam Rockwell, who said that he is a big fan of Shatner’s strange line delivery that many associate with the classic program.

Why does this film sound more and more like a spoof than a tribute to the franchise?
