June 23-24 MoCCA Art Festival

Posted by dailypop on June 23, 2007

June 23-24, 2007
Puck Building (293 Lafayette at Houston), New York City

Hours: 11:00am – 6:00pm

Two floors of independent comic book greatness! My anthology comic Zebra Magazine premiered at MoCCA last year and I’m sad to say I won’t make this time, but if you are in the area, make sure to stop by.

Amongst the super star guests, here are three of my faves:

Michael LaRiccia- Xeric Award winning creator of ‘Black Mane’ and all around great guy, Michael also contributed to the first issue of Zebra Magazine (which he also was kind enough to design and lay out) with his original story, ‘The Last of the Spitting Baboons.’

E.J. Barnes- This cartoonist from Western Mass is nowhere near as innocent as she looks. The creator of the most uniquely hilarious comic book, the Ling Master and the very beautiful Birds of the Baltic, E.J. is both a talented artist and a real card.

Greg Ruth- Fantastic artist of Freaks of the Heartland, the Matrix, and Conan, I always make time to flip through Greg’s original art book and talk to him about his upcoming projects. I’d love to work with Greg some day, but the other publishers keep beating me to it!
