Indian Jones IV

Posted by dailypop on May 24, 2007

“Books fly. Students flee. Into a Yale courtyard bursts Indiana Jones. ” So is the scene from the fourth addition to the Indiana Jones Trilogy.

New Haven streets will be closed to allow for a daring chase scene in the latest last crusade of the bull whip-bearing professor of Archeology, Dr. Jones. Details are still spotty, but the chase involves Indiana Jones chased by bad guys in black sedans through the Yale campus, up to athletic fields, where he catches a football for a moment of lighthearted comedy.

According to location manager David Martin, filming will run June 28 to July 6.

Set in 1957, the film will star action hero Harrison Ford in the title role.

Sexy Beast star Ray Winstone as Indy’s rough-and-ready sidekick (according to a Winstone fan site).

Shia LaBeouf (of this Summer’s Transformers film) as Indiana’s son

Cate Blanchett will be the romantic interest (though producer Spielberg promises cameos from Indy’s past loves).

Release is set for May, 2008.

Famosa’s Marvel World

Posted by dailypop on May 24, 2007

What with all the hubbub over Minimates, you’d think that it was the only option for cute versions of your favorite Marvel Heroes.

But hold that tiger!

Spanish toymaker Famosa has revealed a line similar to that seen many moons ago from DC Direct, the pocket super hero (meant to remind you of the late 70′s MEGO pocket super hero line).

Though the figures are exclusive to Spain, good old ebay is a nice spot to find these rarities.

With characters arranged in two packs including Captain America, Daredevil, Thor, Black Panther, Doctor Doom and fan favorite Hawkeye, Famosa has also created playsets of the Fantastic Four’s Baxter Building and Daredevil’s Dojo (hey, it’s a toy line… no one said it had to make sense).

It’s ironic that these toys aren’t readily available in America, since I think they’d sell like hotcakes.

There is a new website in town, Tales Of The New Republic, showing images from an animated series based on the Star Wars comic book series of the same name published by Dark Horse.

More details after Star Wars Con Celebration, I’m sure!
